163 killed as political violence continues to rise

ISLAMABAD, February 25, 2013: Political violence in the country claimed the lives of 163 people in 37 incidents between February 16 and 22, 2013, up from preceding week\’s 106 and 89 the week before, says the Free and Fair Election Network.

ISLAMABAD, February 25, 2013: The sixth sitting of Senate’s 91st session witnessed passage of three private members’ bills amid low attendance of Senators. Six were present at outset and 26 at the adjournment whereas a maximum of 36 Senators was observed at one time.

Sindh Assembly Sitting Adjourned Due to Lack of Quorum

ISLAMABAD, February 25, 2013: The Sindh Assembly Deputy Speaker adjourned the sitting till Wednesday due to lack of quorum as only two Members were present.

With the session staring 45 minutes late only two members were observed to be present.

The Deputy Speaker presided over the entre sitting that lasted five minutes

ISLAMABAD, February 22, 2013: Starting 51 minutes late, the fifth sitting of 91st session which met for an hour and six minutes on Friday witnessed relatively higher members attendance as sixty senators were present at the outset while 25 at the adjournment.

ISLAMABAD, February 22, 2013: Starting 30 minutes late, the fifth sitting of the ongoing National Assembly session witnessed low attendance of Members. Only 47 members (14% of the total membership) were present at the outset while 67 were there at the time of adjournment.
