The Center for Research and Development (CRD) was established in 1998 by a group of young development professionals. As the members, representing the conscious class of society, they decided to take an initiative of providing social services to the deprived masses of Baluchistan. CRD has the honor of being the Secretariat of BNGOF (Baluchistan NGO Federation) from 2000 to 2002. CRD is still an active member of the Federation and providing technical assistance to its more than 141 CBOs (Community Based Organizations) throughout Baluchistan.
Being the largest geographical but least populated province of Pakistan, Baluchistan is facing serious problems in meeting the access to the needs of the inhabitants.
The CRD will attempt to address these needs in a way not to intervene with providing an “Expert solution & Advocacy, but with an understanding of the values that enables poverty, illiteracy and backwardness to persist in the society.
Besides facilitating the addressed groups in building their capacity, the core focus will be given to the activities in creating awareness in general and economic empowerment of communities through resource mobilization in particular.
