Karwan Community Development Organization is a non-governmental, non-partisan and non-profit organization working for the promotion of peace, social justice, equity and empowerment of the weak by a combination of integrated development cum right- oriented approach at a very remote and backward district, Mianwali of the Punjab province, Pakistan. The organization has been working at grassroots level since December 1993.
Karwan Community Development Organization is engaged in multi-dimensional activities ranging from social organization, community development, income generation, women rights advocacy and campaign, promotion of peace and social justice and networking & coordination etc.
The organization was formally registered under the voluntary Social Welfare Agencies (Registration & Control) Ordinance, 1961 in January 1995. Since then its style for work and effectiveness has improved considerably and the impact of some of its societal interventions can easily be seen and analyzed at grassroots level.
The NGO’s area of operation is the Mianwali, Bhakkar and Layyah districts. However, the organization works with the coordination of other civil society organizations at local, national and regional levels.
