Nahar King Welfare Organization is a not-for-profit welfare organization, which was registered under the Social Welfare & Bait Ul Mall, Government of Punjab Act 1961. Its primary objective is to bring about policy and institutional changes by mobilizing and empowering the deprived and the marginalized communities. The organization’s aim is to create an environment where the local community is able to transform its lives through equitable and sustainable use of resources through an integrated approach.
Since its inception, NKWO is playing a leading role in the field of human rights, poverty alleviation, health, special persons, education, water & sanitation, children, youth and women rights, especially in the Southern Punjab. NKWO works independently and in collaboration with a local NGOs network, known as South Punjab NGOs Forum (SPNF). NKWO is playing a role to bring about a change in the minds of Youth/Labour/Farmers in South Punjab in the following sectors: leadership, peace and conflict management, life skill, fundamental democracy, human rights and their life style.
Its Vision is a society, which is socially just, democratic, tolerant, gender balanced, educated, healthy, skilled and environmentally conducive for humans, birds and animals as well as economically and politically energetic.
The organization’s Mission is to empower the neglected segments of the society and eradicate the socio-economic problems of the needy people, by making the deprived section of communities stronger through participatory programs of social, economic and political maturity in order to realize a vigorous, democratic, calm and flourishing society.
