Development challenges of Baluchistan
PPDS promotes education and socio-economic development in backward areas of Balochistan. PPDS believes in education as a basic approach, since development of people depends, mostly, on the education. PPDS has established, successfully, educational institutions in 16 districts_ mostly in the remote, backward, and neglected areas of Balochistan. Its Outreach Education Program is the most successful, since it extends to underprivileged particularly women, children and rural population.
Primarily a welfare organization, subsequently, shifted its focus to development. The shift of focus based on successes, failures, weaknesses, strengths and lessons learnt during the preliminary welfare oriented phase. Significant steps were taken in respect of organizational and program strategies. Hence, “Pak Public Welfare Society” was renamed “Pak Public Development Society” on June 1995. PPDS is making efforts in going professionally and technically competent, programmatically mature, and financially sustainable organization.
PPDS envisions “A Literate, Healthy, Enlightened, and Prosperous Balochistan” Where all individuals and groups without any discrimination of sex, cast, race, religion, disability/deformity, ethnicity, traditions, and values enjoy: equity & equality of resources, rights, and opportunities.
To become a launching pad for the “Socio-economic and Environmental Development Processes” across Balochistan by initiating, supporting and contributing to multi-sectoral programs especially designed for the welfare and development of women, children, and youth of Balochistan: and work for the empowerment of disadvantaged and backward individuals/ groups across Balochistan for an Overall Community Development.
