Pakistan Lions Youth Council (PLYC) was established in 1986 and got registered in 1993 under the Societies Registration Act of 1860. Since its inception, the organization emerged as an active non-state, not-for-profit, non-religious voluntary organization, which has effectively been engaged in serving the humanity. PLYC works across Pakistan and is the recipient of Prime Minister’s award.
The organization has earned Consultative status with the Economic and Social (ECOSOC) Support and Coordination Department Economics and Social Affairs of the United Nations.
Its Vision is to see Pakistan as a country where people have all the basic facilities required to maintain a better standard of life through integrated development process at the grassroots level.
The Mission of the organization is the promotion of sustainable human development by empowering and enabling the community, especially those who are socially excluded, marginalized, destitute and neglected sections of the society.
The organization’s Objectives include socio-economic empowerment of communities focused on marginalized sections of the society; provision of preventive, curative and care & support services; provision of formal and non-formal education; building the professional capacity of the community based organizations; promotion of basic human rights and prevention of violation of human rights and rehabilitation and social re-adjustment of addicts, patients and victims of natural calamities.
