Parliament Observation
Fair Elections, Open Parliament and Good Governance

FAFEN through TDEA started observation of the National Assembly in 2008. In 2011, it expanded its scope and began observation of the proceedings of the Senate and all four Provincial Assemblies. FAFEN has pioneered a unique methodology to measure the performance of legislatures and elected representatives and release daily and session reports on the legislatures’ processes and performance. These reports are shared with constituents and other stakeholders including legislators, political parties, legislative secretariats, and media to raise public scrutiny of elected representatives of their parliamentary performance. Over the years, FAFEN has:

Maintained an extensive reservoir of parliamentary data (openparliament.pk)

Developed e-paper Parliament Files (parliamentfiles.com)

Release daily factsheets, session-wise reports, and annual appraisals

Disseminated thematic reports on the performance of women and minority legislators
