Sungi Development Foundation was established in 1989 by Omar Asghar Khan as non-profit non-governmental organization. Being one of the largest NGOs, Sungi works to bring about policy and institutional changes by mobilizing deprived and marginalized communities with a view of creating an environment in which communities at the local level may be able to transform their lives through equitable and sustainable use of resources. Sungi has evolved a unique approach whereby it has combined advocacy work with grass root development to bring about an environmentally sustainable socio-economic development order.
