Balochistan Assembly Passes a Bill and two Resolutions in 3 sittings

ISLAMABAD, March 23, 2012: In the first three sittings of its 31st session, the Balochistan Assembly has passed a bill and adopted two resolutions.

The session which started on March 17 passed the Balochistan Zakat and Ushr Bill 2012 in the second sitting.

The first Resolution, moved by a private Member, was about setting up the Institute of Medical Science by Pak Army, and keeping in view the backwardness of the province, called upon the Provincial Government to provide financial aid from non-development funds to students who cannot afford paying admission and other additional fee.

The other Resolution demanded a month’s extension in the deadline for correcting and enrolling names in the voter lists for general elections 2013.

The Question Hour for all three sittings was not held. Each of the three sittings, which started with an average delay of 40 minutes, was presided over by the Speaker.
