Senate: Sitting Marked by Low Attendance

ISLAMABAD, March 12, 2013: Starting 69 minutes late, the 15th sitting of the ongoing Senate’s 91st session was marked by low attendance of Senators as only one senator was present at the outset while 13 were there at the time of adjournment.




Sharp increase in political violence claims 106 lives


ISLAMABAD, March 12, 2013: Political violence claimed the lives of 106 people with 156 others sustaining injuries in 27 incidents from March 2 to 8, 2013, showing a sharp increase compared with preceding week\’s 57 killed and 50 injured, says Free and Fair Election Network (FAFEN).

Sindh Assembly Condemns Badami Bagh Incident

ISLAMABAD, March 11, 2013: The Sindh Assembly, which met for three hours and 50 minutes in the 18th sitting of the ongoing 40th session, unanimously adopted a resolution to condemn the violence on Christian community in Badami Bagh, Lahore.
