Jacobabad, November 11, 2023: Governance and Transparency Network (GTN), established in 2021, Community Development Foundation (CDF) is the regional network management organization of the Free and Fair Election Network. The regional network serves as a coalition of local civil society organizations from Jacobabad, Shikarpur, and Kashmore. GTN is committed to promoting inclusive participation in political and electoral processes.
The network conducted its 6th meeting on November 11, 2023 which focused on activities, including discussion on the decisions of network’s fourth virtual session, a holistic overview of the network’s progress, and on upcoming elections in the region. Moreover, the meeting deliberated about monitoring of electoral and political violence as part of FAFEN’s long-term election observation methodology, an awareness-raising session on voter participation with Hindu and Sikh Communities in their Gurdwara Dashmesh Darbar and Gautam Gir Mandir, and a meeting of the District Voter Education Committee (DVEC) in Jacobabad. These activities demonstrate the network’s efforts and commitment to fostering civic engagement and inclusive political and electoral processes by promoting the participation of women, persons with disabilities, religious minorities, and other marginalized segments of the society in the region.
