Female MNAs’ Attendance Remains Higher than Male MNAs

During the second parliamentary year of the National Assembly of Pakistan, female lawmakers maintained a consistently higher attendance rate than their male counterparts, according to FAFEN’s annual analysis based on official attendance records.

Out of 84 sittings held during the year, female MNAs attended an average of 51 sittings, compared to 49 sittings attended by male MNAs.

Proportionately, women recorded higher attendance than men in every session of the year. The largest gap was observed during the 19th session, where female MNAs’ attendance exceeded that of male MNAs by 18 percentage points. The difference stood at 13 percentage points during the 14th, 18th, and 22nd sessions.

Overall, female MNAs recorded an average attendance rate of 70 percent, compared to 60 percent for male MNAs.
