National Assembly Attendance Report – 28th Session

During the 28th session of the National Assembly, which comprised 15 sittings held between June 10 to June 24, 2026, 99 out of 333 (30 percent) members attended all sittings, while six (two percent) did not attend any sitting.

Below are key highlights of the attendance during the session.

  • The 13th sitting recorded the highest attendance, with 300 MNAs present (75 percent of the current membership). The sitting witnessed voting on demands for grants and consideration of standing committee report on the Finance Bill, 2026.
  • The fifth sitting recorded the lowest attendance, with 209 MNAs present (63 percent). The sitting was the second day of the general discussion on the federal budget 2026-2027.
  • As many as 234 MNAs (70 percent) missed at least one sitting during the session.
  • Among cabinet members from the National Assembly, six federal ministers and three ministers of state attended all sittings
  • The Prime Minister attended six sittings.
  • The Leader of the Opposition attended 12 sittings.
  • Of the 10 federal ministers scheduled to respond during Question Hour, six were marked present on the day when they were required to answer questions while the remaining four were marked absent.
  • Of the four ministers required to respond to Calling Attention Notices, two were marked present in the sitting when the CANs relating to their ministries were listed on the Orders of the Day.
