Islamabad, December 19, 2024: As many as 31 Members of National Assembly (10 percent) attended all sittings, whereas 19 (six percent) did not attend any sitting during the 10th session of the National Assembly that concluded November 5, 2024, reveals the MNAs Attendance Report Card released by Free and Fair Election Network. Following are key highlights of the report:
- The highest attendance was 239 members (76 percent of the current membership) during the fifth sitting, coinciding with the passage of the 26th Constitutional Amendment.
- The lowest attendance was 122 members (39 percent) during the 10th sitting, on Private Members’ Day.
- MNAs from ICT and Sindh were more regular than MNAs from other regions.
- As many as 289 members (92 percent) skipped at least one sitting during the session.
- The House received leave applications for 124 (39 percent)
- As many as 159 members (51 percent) skipped the House proceedings without any formal leave application.
- Minister of State for Finance and Revenue had the highest attendance (77 percent) among all ministerial colleagues.
- Prime Minister attended three (23 percent) and the Leader of the Opposition 10 (77 percent) sittings.
