National Assembly Attendance Report Card -17th Session

ISLAMABAD, July 22, 2025: As many as 78 (25 percent) Members of the National Assembly (MNAs) attended all sittings, whereas ten (three percent) did not attend any sitting during the 17th (Budget) session of the National Assembly that spanned over 13 sittings between June 5 and 27, 2025. Following chart shows the gender-disaggregated number of lawmakers grouped by the number of sittings they attended during the reporting session:

  • The twelfth sitting had the highest number of MNAs (292 or 93 percent of current membership) present during the session.
  • The third sitting had the lowest number of MNAs (177 or 57 percent) present.
  • As many as 235 (75 percent) MNAs skipped at least one sitting during the session.
  • As Many as 79 (34 percent of 235) MNAs submitted applications for leave of absence during the session.
  • As many as 156 (66 percent of 235) MNAs skipped the House proceedings without any formal leave application in advance.
  • Among the cabinet members, two federal ministers and three state ministers attended all sittings.
  • Prime Minister attended three sitting while the Leader of the Opposition attended all sittings.
