Quetta, May 30, 2024: FAFEN’s Network for Sustainable Development conducted a training session for its Regional Member Organizations (RMOs) in Quetta, on May 14, 2024. The training covered various aspects, including generating grassroots support for electoral reforms, designing strategies to foster a political culture and community dialogue, evaluating the operational landscape for civil societies, and reducing polarization in the political landscape for a unified cause. As many as 30 participants attended the session and were able to enhance their knowledge and skills for effectively conducting advocacy activities.
Additionally, the training encompassed the utilization of digital media in civil society work, recognizing its pivotal role in advocacy and outreach efforts. Participants were equipped with practical knowledge on leveraging digital platforms to amplify their voices and engage with diverse stakeholders effectively. Furthermore, the session also facilitated learning on various research methods, empowering participants to conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to inform evidence-based decision-making. Through workshops and discussions, attendees gained insights into conducting surveys, focus group discussions (FGDs), and other research methodologies, enhancing their capacity to address complex societal issues with informed perspectives.
The training was designed to be interactive, ensuring active participation from all network member organization participants. Group work activities were integrated to enhance engagement and enrich the learning experience. The training session received positive feedback from participants, who highlighted its effectiveness in equipping them with valuable skills and knowledge. Participants expressed satisfaction with the interactive nature of the session, emphasizing its role in fostering collaborative learning and networking opportunities. Recommendations included the continuation of similar training initiatives to further empower regional member organizations and enhance their collective impact on societal development.
