Shah Hussain Regional Network (SHRN) Campaigns for Quality and Free Education

Lahore, February 26, 2025: In celebration of World Education Day on January 24, 2025, FAFEN’s Shah Hussain Regional Network (SHRN), in collaboration with its members, organized a series of awareness activities. The initiative focused on the theme, “Providing Quality and Free Education up to Matric is the Responsibility of the State.”

As part of the campaign, SHRN conducted 10 awareness sessions titled “When Will Governments Fulfill Their Responsibility?” across various districts, including Gujranwala, Pindi Bhattiyan, Sheikhupura, Mandi Bahauddin, and Hafizabad. These sessions aimed to educate the public on the importance of ensuring access to quality and free education for children up to the secondary level. A key focus was Article 25-A of the Constitution of Pakistan, which guarantees free and compulsory education for children aged five to sixteen.

In addition to the awareness sessions, the campaign included dissemination of educational messages through the official Facebook pages of all regional member organizations. To further amplify the message, four awareness rallies were organized, drawing participation from community members, civil society organizations (CSOs), students, and the general public. These rallies served as a platform to advocate for the state’s responsibility in providing equitable and quality education for all.

The campaign highlighted the critical need for collective action to ensure that every child in Pakistan has access to free and quality education, as enshrined in the country’s constitution.
