Chenab Regional Network Raises Accessibility Issues of Persons with Disabilities to Polling Stations

Arrangements for persons with disabilities at polling stations are scant. FAFEN’s partner conducts session to highlight the problem.

Muzaffargarh, December 12, 2023: Free and Fair Election Network (FAFEN) partner the Chenab Regional Network conducted a vital session in district Muzaffargarh, addressing and highlighting the accessibility issues of persons with disabilities (PWDs) to polling stations.

The session was facilitated by FAFEN’s network member organization – the Social Youth Council of Patriots (SYCOP). The discussion in the event focused on enhancing inclusivity within the electoral process and advocated for promptly addressing the accessibility issues of PWDs. For an inclusive election, the participation of PWDs should be made possible by providing them with accessible facilities.

The session highlights the need for arranging polling stations to the requirements of PWDs.
