Sustainable Development network interacts with community individuals on barriers preventing women from participating in elections.
Pishin, December 11, 2023: FAFEN’s Regional Network for Sustainable Development organized an awareness session on Women’s Access to Polling Stations facilitated by the Youth Organization in Killi Akalzai Saranan in Pishin. T
he objective of the session was to involve the community individuals in an open discussion on barriers preventing women’s support for participating in elections. Moreover, the discussions were also held to prepare collaborative methodologies to promote inclusivity in elections.
As many as 32 individuals, including 22 women and 10 men from different walks of life took part in the discussion and talked about the issues that require prompt redressal from the election authorities. The participants interacted with the representatives of the Network on possible solutions to overcome the hurdles preventing women from voting and committed to play their role in promoting women’s participation in electoral processes.
