Women electoral participation is a critical issue—one needing everyone’s attention. Here stakeholders join hands too!

Kandhkot, December 11, 2023: Kainat Development Association (KDA) under the banner of FAFEN’s Regional Network — Governance and Transparency Network conducted a community awareness session on Women Access to Polling Stations.

The objective of the session was to engage the local community members in an open dialogue and identify barriers hindering women’s participation in the electoral process. The discussions in the session helped in developing strategies to enhance inclusivity and accessibility.

People from different walks of life attended the session including 30 women and four men. The participants discussed the core issues that need immediate attention of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

The District Election Commissioner (DEC) Mr. Sattar Sardar also participated and delivered his speech on the importance of women’s vote in elections. The DEC emphasized to the participants to use their vote as a power to bring change. At the end of the session, participants interacted with the DEC and shared their queries regarding the barriers to women voting.
