ISLAMABAD, September 1, 2025: As many as 69 (21 percent) Members of the National Assembly (MNAs) attended all sittings, whereas 51 (15 percent) did not attend any sitting during the 18th session of the National Assembly that spanned over eight sittings between August 4 and 13, 2025. Following chart shows the gender-disaggregated number of lawmakers grouped by the number of sittings they attended during the reporting session:
- The eight sitting had the highest number of MNAs (223 or 68 percent of current membership) present during the session.
- The fifth sitting had the lowest number of MNAs (169 or 52 percent) present.
- As many as 262 (79 percent) MNAs skipped at least one sitting during the session.
- As Many as 89 (34 percent of 262) MNAs submitted applications for leave of absence during the session.
- As many as 173 (66 percent of 235) MNAs skipped the House proceedings without any formal leave application in advance.
- Among the cabinet members, two federal ministers and one state ministers attended all sittings.
- The Prime Minister did not attend any sitting during the session.
- The Leader of the House was disqualified from membership only after the House’s first sitting. He did not attend the first sitting either.
