No-confidence resolution against KP Chief Minister withdrawn

ISLAMABAD, April 11, 2022: The joint opposition on Monday withdrew no-confidence resolution against Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), observes Free and Fair Election Network (FAFEN) in its Daily Factsheet.

Following are key observations of the House proceedings during the 7th sitting of 21st session:

Members’ Participation

  • The House met for 30 minutes.
  • The sitting started at 02:20 pm against the scheduled time of 02:00 pm.
  • The speaker presided over the entire proceedings.
  • The deputy speaker was also present.
  • The leader of the House (Chief Minister) attended the entire sitting.
  • The leader of the opposition was not present.
  • As many as 65 MPAs (45 percent) were present at the outset and 90 (62 percent) at the adjournment of the sitting.
  • Parliamentary leader of ANP attended the sitting.
  • All four minority lawmakers were present.

Output

  • A lawmaker belonging to ANP withdrew a joint resolution of no-confidence against the Chief Minister.
  • Tabled by a PTI lawmaker, the House adopted a resolution to express confidence on KP Chief Minister. A total of 88 lawmakers voted in favor of resolution and two legislators opposed it.

Order and Institutionalization

  • The House was adjourned to meet again on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at 02:00 pm.

Transparency

  • ‘Orders of the Day’ was available for the legislators, observers and the media.
  • Attendance of the lawmakers was not available for the observers and the media.
