Inclusion of Women in Electoral Processes: Southern Sustainable Democratic Network Holds Seminar

Islamabad, February 1, 2024: FAFEN’s Regional Network Southern Sustainable Democratic Network (SSDN) conducted seminars on the Election Commission’s Code of Conduct for contesting candidates and political parties and emphasized the significance of women’s inclusion in the electoral processes in Bannu, Lakki Marwat, and North and South Waziristan.

Men and women actively attended the event. The seminar focused on the importance of ECP code of conduct and women’s inclusion in the elections. The participants discussed and raised demands to encourage political parties to adopt affirmative actions for promoting women candidates.

The seminar also focused on initiating collaboration with other civil society organizations (CSOs) for awareness campaigns for inclusion of women in electoral processes. The seminar aimed at contributing to a more ethical and inclusive political landscape in Pakistan.
