During the 12th session of the National Assembly, held from January 13 to 23, 2025, attendance trends revealed significant insights. While 36 MNAs (11pc) attended all sittings, 35 MNAs (11pc) were absent throughout. The highest attendance was recorded during the ninth and final sitting, with 241 MNAs (68%) present as the House passed the Prevention of Electronic Crimes (Amendment) Bill, 2025. In contrast, the lowest attendance was during the fifth sitting, with only 117 MNAs (37%) present, leading to an adjournment due to a lack of quorum. MNAs from Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) demonstrated the highest commitment, with all of them attending the entire session. Overall, 82pc of MNAs missed at least one sitting, and 65pc skipped proceedings without formally applying for leave. Meanwhile, 35pc of MNAs submitted leave applications. Among ministers, the federal minister for housing and works was the only one with 100pc attendance. The leader of the opposition attended all sittings, whereas the prime minister was present for only 15pc of the session.
