FAFEN General Election Observation 2018: Election Day Process Observation and Analysis

FAFEN general election observation covers findings on pre-voting proceedings, polling stations, voting process, result management, etc.

This publication on FAFEN general election observation is the outcome of FAFEN’s Election Day Observation in 270 National Assembly constituencies with the help of 17,725 trained and non-partisan citizen observers.

The ten-chapter report includes the observation findings on pre-voting proceedings, arrangements and staffing at polling stations, voting process, result management process, election day security, campaigning and canvassing on election day, facilitation for marginalized groups participation in election and election observation.

The observers noted the compliance of the election day processes with the statutory and regulatory provisions on the conduct of election. Each observer visited up to four polling stations on the Election Day and spent nearly an hour at every polling station to fill in the standardized checklists which they reported to FAFEN using a mobile Election Observation App and an online Election Information Management System.
