Governance and Transparency Network Conducts Capacity-Building Session for its Regional Member Organizations

Shikarpur, May 30, 2024: FAFEN’s Governance and Transparency Network (GTN) conducted a capacity-building session of regional member organizations (RMOs) in Shikarpur on May 14, 2024, aimed at empowering members of pro-democracy civil society networks within the Governance and Transparency Network on the socio-political actions in the region. The participants appreciated the theme and showed their will to hold the district dialogues on democratic values, political processes, and conflict resolution to empower citizens with the necessary skills for active participation and constructive dialogue among the youth of different political parties in the region on a youth-friendly budget.

The participants also mapped the operational environment for civil society organizations in their districts as various factors impact the functioning and effectiveness of civil society organizations in the region. This mapping exercise helped the participants to assess the political landscape, government regulations, legal and pressure tactics & different challenges restricting the space, and sustainability of civil society.

The participants were equipped with the knowledge, skills, and resources necessary to drive meaningful change at the grassroots level and contribute to strong democratic governance and transparency initiatives through advocacy activities. The training session focused on empowering participants to identify issues of electoral governance and generate a powerful voice for electoral reforms at the grassroots level. By providing them with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills, attendees were equipped with the skills to actively engage in advocacy efforts within their communities, fostering meaningful dialogue and driving positive change.
